Tiny Baker

Cookies from Timmy

Years ago, when I started this blog, I aspired to inspire.

My hope was to plant seeds of passion in potential bakers. People who enjoyed cakes, breads, cookies and always wanted to make them but was just too afraid to try.

In some ways, I think I succeeded, even with people around me.

My neighbour Timmy, a young boy of 11 years old called up over the weekend to inform that he’ll be coming by to pass us cookies he baked. My mum used to be Timmy’s nanny for a few years before he was old enough to attend primary school. During that time, when I baked in the kitchen, Timmy would be my tiny helper. I doubt he’d remember but he did say he wanted to be a baker when he grew up, after a delicious baking session with me.

Timmy’s aunt is also an avid baker. She now has Timmy’s enthusiastic help.

Timmy's Comment Card

The little darling is quite the entrepreneur. He made us fill in the comment card he attached to the container of cookies he passed us. Kudos to him for understanding the mechanics of consumer’s feedback and market perception at such a young age.

Future baker or marketer? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, I will encourage Timmy and thank him for reminding me how I need to bake more! 🙂
